Our Journey
1997 – Humble Beginnings
Mike and Marlene Bosworth founded NorthWind Technical Services in their home just outside Sabetha, Kansas, offering engineering consulting services—and dreaming big.
1999 – First Automation Steps
NorthWind began offering automation system solutions! A small downtown Sabetha office was set up, while control panels were still handcrafted in the Bosworths’ garage.
2001 – Growing the Team
The company hired its first full-time employee, marking the start of a growing team of talented engineers and technicians.
2003 – New Home for Innovation
A brand-new 5,000 sq. ft. office and panel shop opened in the Sabetha Industrial Park, giving the business room to grow and innovate.
2012 – Expansion #1
An additional 2,600 sq. ft. was added, including a test lab, lunchroom, and more office space to support the ever-growing team.
2014 – Expansion #2
NorthWind expanded again, adding 3,250 sq. ft. for the panel shop and warehouse—making room for more projects and more people.
2017 – Expansion #3
Yet another expansion provided extra space for control panel fabrication and personnel, keeping pace with growing demand.
2019 – Going Global
NorthWind opened its Latin America office in Costa Rica, bringing expert automation services to customers across the region.
2021 – Kansas City Office
A new office in Kansas City launched, expanding our reach and design capabilities.
2022 – 25 Years Strong
NorthWind celebrated its 25-year anniversary—marking a quarter century of innovation, growth, and helping manufacturers work smarter.

Headquarters & Global Expansion
Our main hub in Sabetha, Kansas houses most employees and all control panel fabrication. In 2019, we opened a Latin America office in San Jose, Costa Rica to better serve regional customers, and in 2021 a Kansas City office joined the team for sales and electrical design support.
