Go behind the scenes of a real build in action
At NorthWind, our Control Panel Shop delivers custom UL-certified control panels. Every panel is built to meet UL and National Electric Code (NEC) standards. Our process guarantees that every control panel is engineered and built with accuracy.
In this video, we take you behind the senses of a real panel build, from initial setup to final testing, showcasing our team’s attention to detail and commitment to quality.
NorthWind’s Design Team draws on extensive process experience and expertise to develop control system designs. Every system is designed with efficiency, maintainability, and safety in mind.
Once the design is approved, our manufacturing team brings it to life on the shop floor.
Our 10,000 square foot manufacturing space is climate-controlled, with high bay doors and load docks for efficient material handling and transport. This ultramodern facility is designed for optimal panel fabrication with designated areas for each panel stage.
We begin by preparing the back panel using the Perforex Panel Cutting & Pre-Drilling Machine. This automated system reads directly from the approved drawings to make precise cutouts, ensuring every component fits from the start.
Next, our technicians mount all electrical components according to the approved layout. Each device is installed with attention to spacing, organization, and accessibility, making it easier for the next step. Watch this short video on the Perforex
Our Wire Terminal Machine automatically cuts, strips, and labels wires to exact lengths, enhancing the process and making it consistent. Every wire is routed neatly and labeled clearly to support easy maintenance and troubleshooting down the road. Watch this short video on the Wire Terminal Machine
Before any panel leaves our shop, it undergoes a complete functional test and quality review. Our team performs these tests to verify that the system operates safely, on time, and ready for installation.
Why It Matters
A well-built control panel keeps your system running smoothly. A poorly built one can lead to downtime, safety issues, and delays when something goes wrong.
In NorthWind’s Control Panel Shop, we focus on clean wiring, clear labeling, and organized layouts, so your panel is easy to install, easy to maintain, and built to last. Every panel is built with safety in mind.
