Production Scheduler

The production scheduler is responsible for establishing and maintaining the control panel and project production schedule based on project priority, production hour availability and parts availability.  The production scheduler will oversee purchasing and logistics and will communicate with all departments regarding production lead times and scheduling.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set build schedule and priority of projects/panels
  • Edit data in NW systems to track and maintain ERP system and communication with other departments
  • Oversee and work with purchasing to determine parts lead times
  • Balance production hours with parts availability
  • Communicate clearly and often with Project Managers and Account Managers regarding customer expectations and manufacturing capacity.
  • Communicate clearly and often with Design Team on lead time issues
  • Communicate with Production Team and Quality Control on expectations and work priorities
  • Communicate with shipping on scheduling and shipping of finished panels and orders
  • Revise production schedule when necessary due to design changes, material shortages, or other interruptions while collaborating with all departments to find solutions for customers
  • Maintain expected completion dates in NW systems
  • Maintain accurate records of tasks and deliverable completion in NW systems
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvements in manufacturing flow and NW systems

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent computer skills – proficiency with Excel
  • Strong knowledge of materials management, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Problem Solving – ability to identify problems, review related information, then develop and evaluate options and solutions
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to see the larger vision of projects and process
  • Understanding of electrical and/or automation systems and components preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate degree in Business or a related field of study
  • Relevant experience in a related field may be substituted for formal education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field of study

Physical Abilities/Work Environment:

Includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Typing, communicating effectively, analyzing data, and organization
  • Viewing a computer and reading for significant amounts of time
  • Standing, walking, and lifting
  • Occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds
